I live in Arizona, where having a backyard pool is not unusual due to the summer heat and temperatures that often rise above 110°F (43.3C °C). Mine is over 30 years old and doing pretty well. After it turned an ugly green a few months ago, a wonderful young man came out and worked his magic to get it sparkling clean. A few weeks ago, I had to go back to my regular schedule with him and take over some of the care once again. I’d spent a lot on the remediation, and it was time to refill my savings.  I was so proud of myself when, on Saturday afternoon, after doing my part, the pool sparkled and glistened with the beautiful blue it is supposed to have

The “thundercane” hit that night — my humorous term for a desert storm that feels like a cross between a wild thunderstorm and a hurricane. The wind whistled through every crack in the doors. Thunder clapped. The torrential rain pelted against the window screens, making them roll like waves. The desert was in divine ecstasy. The next day, my pool was not!  A light coating of dirt was barely discernable through the dusty water. I took a breath.

“What am I creating?”

“A sparkling pool,” came the answer. I cleaned it up and, while doing so, noticed the cleaning system was not operating as it should.  I wasn’t sure what to do, so I sat with spirit and focused on the feeling of a clean and easy-to-maintain pool. I felt impulsed to ask AI. I got the answer. Now, who best to fix it? I sat with spirit again and got a very strong feeling to contact the manufacturer, even though it had been installed so many years before. To my astonishment, the cleaning system came with a lifetime warranty, and, as a result, I will save at least $600. Thank God for guidance! The warranty work is scheduled in a few weeks.

This is how energy works. I could have become frustrated and decided to fix it myself, but diving into a cool pool and paying so much wasn’t attractive. I could have paid my wonderful helper to do it for me, again at huge expense. What was I creating?  A clean pool at an affordable price. Spirit knew it, and how to do it.

This is a small thing, trivial actually, compared to life’s real problems, like losing loved ones or houses burning up.  But whether grand or small, when we don’t know what to do, spirit does. When we don’t know how to heal, the life force within us does. When we don’t know how to fix a relationship or a broken heart, the Creator of universes that runs the stars in the heavens does.  And it is in our willingness to own the fact that we get to set the course for our life by choosing what we want to focus on that we open ourselves to the help that is available.

The universe is always trying to help us.   I wanted a clean, easily maintained pool. If it hadn’t stormed, I would not have noticed the real problem. Without noticing the problem, I would not have learned about “gear assemblies” and “diverter plates” that control “cleaning heads.” Without getting quiet, I would not have thought to call the manufacturer and save so much money.  The universe has your back. The universe is trying to help, heal, elevate, and soothe you.

We abdicate our own creative powers when we let the fears and upsets of others compel us to focus with them. We join the collective creation and follow along. Instead, we can chart the course we want to live, and invite others to join—not with our words, but by example.

What am I creating? I have asked myself this so many times. I asked it when I was sick and injured and didn’t know how to get better. I asked it when I had huge bills I didn’t know how to pay. I asked it when people were so unkind, they rocked my world. And I ask it regularly when something wobbles me.

It gets fun, actually. A silly mole that didn’t belong started to grow a few weeks ago. What am I creating? “Darling,” I looked at it, “You can’t grow on me. You must leave. I am healthy.”  I put some cream on it that helps, put castor oil on at night, and it withered up and fell out cleanly!

I had too much for a human to accomplish the past week. What am I creating? Flow before I teach living in flow!? I imagined it, practiced what I preach, and everything I needed to do flowed.

Recently I’ve been focusing with and for a family member who has plenty of medical issues. Recently, this person saw a doctor’s report that he hadn’t intended to share. In it, there were notes about a possible diagnosis that the doctor hadn’t shared. My family member had a chat with AI about what they could adjust, and already some of the changes are having a positive impact. This person, who has often been near death’s door over the past few years, is a determined “thriver” in spite of it all.

There are a lot of tough things going on in the world. Another dear one informed me about the government shutdown this week and all the people they know who are being affected. That’s not a fun reality for many who are affected. Even then, the angels remind us, “What are we creating?” For some, it will be a much-needed think-break to re-evaluate life. For others, there is a strong motivation to find new work that resonates more with them. For still others, it is an exercise in learning that they will be okay despite the machinations of man. It is not easy when it feels like our lives are being affected deeply by the choices of others, but even then, we can ask, “What are we creating?” Beauty for ashes, perhaps? The wave of energy that follows the ocean’s withdrawing so far before a title wave?  A better life?  A kinder situation? Or are we going to embrace the mess and let it take us for a ride?

Here are a few pointers to help you remember your God-given right to create your own life, no matter what others are creating:

Here are a few pointers ot help you….

1.  Imagine your life is the beginning of a play… What is the next chapter?

Imagine you suddenly appeared on earth in this body, in this life, with the circumstances that surround you. I tis the beginning of a play. What are you creating? What would you like to play out or experience in the next chapter?

If you’re sick, you want to feel better.
If you have lack, you want to experience abundance.
If you feel lonely, you want the comfort and kindness of friends and love
If you are grieving, you want to feel the presence of your dear ones and know their eternity.
If your house is a mess, you want order
If your pantry is empty, you want food that nourishes.

Wherever you are, it is the beginning of your new play.   Whatever you’ve acted in before is over. Now is new. Now is the beginning. Imagine how you want to feel in the next chapter. Keep your sights there as often as you can. Feel it. Dial in and wait for the universe to match you with all that belongs on the new course you have charted.

2. Allow others their Creations

Others are allowed to chart their own course and act as they wish in any role they choose. Sometimes we love the roles others play in our lives. Sometimes they play the villain!  They have the right to do that.

We have the right to engage or not, energetically speaking. You may have to sit next to the grumpy coworker or live with the angry child, but you don’t have to engage energetically. You can allow them to be grumpy or angry, and ask yourself, “What am I creating?”

It was a revelation to me that I could be happy in spite of someone else’s discontent, but after years of watching the angels, who never waver from a space of pure love, no matter how angry, sad, or even nasty someone is to them, I have learned. I get to play my own part. I can choose to stream love to the little child within an adult who is spewing anger. I can choose to have compassion for the person whose negativity is so thick and deep that they don’t know they’re creating their own problems.

I choose my loving and kind role because I want to feel good.  And when I wobble, I can choose to be kind to myself so I can get aligned once again.  It isn’t my role, or yours, to change anyone else. However, in our space of choosing to love with compassion and acceptance, even when we walk away from someone we dislike intensely, we can feel better. We can stay connected.  Others get to choose to experience whatever they wish.

You can be the Disney prince or princess even when the villain is trying to lure you to the dark side!  And while that is a humorous exaggeration, you can love even when others try to tempt you to fear, anger, or hate. You can love yourself even when life makes it unthinkably hard to feel good about anything else.

Let everyone be whoever they choose to be.  As the angels tell me kindly, “Mind your own mind. Pull out the weeds in your own garden rather than letting them grow tall while looking at others!”

3. Be the positive influence in the world, rather than allowing it to negatively influence you.

The strongest energy in the room wins. If you are a mighty force of love and kindness, you can elevate a whole room, a whole family, a whole workplace. If you let those who are angry or fearful influence you, you’ve joined them.  We can share our light with the world rather than fearing possession by the darkness. We can raise the vibration rather than letting it lower us.

What are we creating? It is a good question to ask.

You deserve to answer it in a way that is kind to yourself, loving, and reflects all you are truly worthy of receiving.

Have a blessed week,
Love,
Ann
