I am sitting on my patio Friday night with a fuzzy polar fleece on my lap under the portable computer. I didn’t get to the newsletter earlier in the week for a variety of reasons but now I’m glad. The air is cool. The trees are rustling in the breeze, and the birds are just finishing up their sunset serenade. A faint smell of orange blossoms comes and goes in waves, and the warm tea I brought out after work is coziness in a cup. It is a beautiful evening. I feel good.
The week has not been stable in any sort of normal sense. I was looking forward to a few days of getting caught up last weekend when I got an urgent message that one of my best friend’s sisters was in the hospital after a heart attack. Priorities were immediately rearranged. My friend jumped on a plane, and I went inward. This dear soul was on the fence between life and death while her body underwent a stroke and two further heart attacks. In the human sense, no one knew if she’d come back or even be able to function after the stroke.
An outpouring of love and prayer ensued, with friends, family, spiritual groups, and friends of friends joining in solidarity to pray, chant, send Love, and hold the light. Her soul felt it.
Sunday, while I was in deep meditation, she visited me, made a joke, and let me know it was likely she’d return. That night, she visited a friend in a dream with a similar message. Monday her body underwent a life-saving bypass surgery, and she woke up, clear as day, tube in the throat and all singing “Amen,” smiling, and expressing love to all around. We were all in tears of joy. She is recovering amazingly well, considering the severity of the events.
The adventure wasn’t over. My friend, who had been experiencing symptoms on and off for months, had acute pain two days later and ended up in the same ER as her sister. Long story short, her life was saved, too, as the doctors worked around a severe blockage in one of her arteries. She came out of surgery feeling and looking better than she had in ages and happy to be alive. She joked about her “vacation!” We marveled at the elegant dance of the universe. A wonderful doctor in Phoenix who had helped her last year had been unable, at the time, to unblock the last clogged artery, and had she not been at this particular hospital—out of state—supporting her sister, she might not be on earth. Talk about the flow of grace!
I am fortunate to know a group of amazing people who spend the majority of their time and energy in the higher vibes. Even when clearing out old clogs from the past, they have moved through these challenges with amazing grace and in the kindest way possible. It is surreal at times. We are all so blessed.
I don’t watch the news, but I hear about the world’s antics from plenty of others. Wednesday, I woke up feeling something stirring and found out later in the day that there were now extreme tariffs in effect, and the world’s markets were plummeting. Not out of fear, but more to indulge my kooky sense of humor and happy vibe, I went “hoard” shopping to spread some smiles and buy a little extra coffee and chocolate — “staples” of life in my humorous heart!
Joking aside, I don’t like the idea of a world spiraling into greater division and separation. But while I can’t do much about all that is going on and the ripple effect, I can avoid spiraling into divineness and separation inside my own heart. I can put my attention where I can do good, be effective, and shine my light.
We can be in the world, but not of it. It just takes a little effort to mind our energy field. I was worn thin last night and knew it was time to get quiet and let my spirit recalibrate me to the beauty in life — the healing of friends, the life of a family member, the good food, and the warm blanket on my lap. I give thanks for the hummus, tabouleh, and roasted veggies I had for dinner and take a sip of warm tea as I snuggle under the fleece and listen to the song of the crickets playing a post-sunset symphony in the yard. The breeze is still cold. The trees are rustling. And life is good.
Here are a few pointers to help you navigate when you witness things that are not easy to see
1. Allow yourself your feelings
Feelings are not bad. They indicate where you are seeing as your soul sees and where you are not. Things may anger us as humans but the soul sees with love. Things may inspire sadness as humans, but this soul sees the healing and the hope. Things may depress us or make us feel helpless, but the soul knows our power.
As you love yourself through your human feelings, accepting them with kindness, non-judgment, and compassion, your feelings will naturally start to recalibrate with those of your soul. Be kind to yourself. Talk to the hurting parts of yourself with compassion. Accept them, and then watch them settle, become soothed, and allow yourself to naturally return to center.
2. Ask Your Inner Spirit, “What can I do?”
We all hate feeling helpless. In reality, we are powerful. If you ask your inner spirit, “What can I do?” when you encounter a tough or unpleasant situation, you will feel the answer. Sometimes, it is, “Nothing. Get back to your day.” Sometimes, it is a request to be peaceful and emanate peace. Sometimes it is a time to pray. At times, I have wandered to the computer as if on auto-pilot and donated to a cause without an extra thought. Your sincere intent to help will always call for the action or energy that is within your capacity, resources, and bandwidth at the moment.
3. Give yourself permission to be where you are
So many I talk with feel guilty when they feel good if others are suffering. Still, in their good space, they offer more light and love to the world. So many feel guilty when life isn’t hard for them, yet that is how we all intended to live. If you’re in a good space, give thanks for being there. If not, be kind to yourself.
No matter which dimension you are in, it is OK. One feels better. One allows you to be a contribution. But the denser spaces are not bad and wrong. They are just not pleasant. Give yourself grace. Love yourself through the tougher moments. You will naturally and organically raise your vibe as you offer this love to yourself.
We can watch the world with wonder, or we can watch the world with horror. We can watch the world with neutrality. Do what feels best to you, but also do your best not to become too entangled with a focus on the lower vibes. Instead, bear witness to the beauty, goodness, and grace in the world. Look for the kindness in the majority of human hearts, in the animals and plants, and in beautiful Mother Earth. The problems and antics of the few, no matter how they stir the pond, are small compared to the love that is here for us all.
Have a blessed week,
Love,
Ann
FOR FUN – AWESOME VIDEO – Koit, the man who interviewed me a few months ago, with his partner has released his first album with the main song featuring a symphonic pop beat, and lyrics about the cycles of life, death, reincarnation and the choices we make. The beginning scenes of a soul incarnating are breathtaking and beautiful!! Enjoy it here! Support him with a comment or like if you’re inclined!
